How Mustard Converter Works?
The Mustard Converter works by dividing grams of prepared mustard by 5.2 g per US teaspoon. Yellow, Dijon and wholegrain mustards weigh within a few percent per spoon.
Pick prepared mustard
The converter covers prepared (wet) mustard. Dry mustard powder weighs about 2.5 g per tsp.
Enter grams
Type the weight, such as 10 g for a vinaigrette.
Level the spoon
Fill the spoon with mustard and level the top. Wholegrain mustard needs a firm press to remove gaps.
Mustard Converter Formula
The Mustard Converter formula is teaspoons = grams of prepared mustard ÷ 5.2.
tsp = g ÷ 5.2 | 1 tbsp = 15.6 g | 1 tsp mustard ≈ 5.2 g
- 10 g of Dijon mustard ÷ 5.2 = 1.92 tsp, about 2 tsp.
- 5 g of yellow mustard ÷ 5.2 = 0.96 tsp, about 1 tsp.
- 1 tbsp of wholegrain mustard = 15.6 g.
